Advanced Composite Industries offers a Webbed Composite Disc Material. These materials are
manufactured from Polyurethane Foam reinforced with glass fiber webs. Materials manufactured
with these webbed foams are used in products where high shear stiffness is required. The result
from using webbed foams is to reduce edge deflection, and increase flexural radial strength.
Four webbed cores orientated at 45
degree's. The radial web core
configuration is used for large
diameter, thin Composite Disc's that
are lightly loaded.
The orthogonal webbed foam
configuration used essentially in
composite discs that are heavily
loaded.
The Tri-axial web configuration used
essentially when disc flatness, radial
strength and stiffness is a necessity for
product performance.
ACI designs webbed composite disc's using several webbed core
configurations to obtain different Composite Disc Thicknesses.

ACI engineering or representative will
discuss the use of any of the webbed
composite disc materials
configurations for your application.
Orientating the Webbed Core at 0 and 90 degrees can be used for
composite disc's with 2 [0/90] 4 [0/90/90/0], and 8 [0/90/0/90/90/0/90/0],
cores of equal thickness.
Orientating the Webbed Core at 0, 60 and 120 degrees can be used for
composite disc's with 3 [0/60/120] and 6 [0/60/120/120/60/0], cores of equal
thickness.

By example using a 1/2" thick core would result in Composite Disc's
with the following total core thickness (note; not Disc thickness!)
Other combinations can be obtained by using
different core thickness rather than 1/2".
